During my school visits over the last year, I’ve recognised the need to create resources for teachers to help with reading skills. Using the Adventures of Poppy and Lord Ted: The First Summer I’m delighted to have launched a set of teaching resources for primary school teachers to start the new school year.
A set of 24 chapter by chapter resources are available and based on the first book using the reading skills of Retrieval, Inference, Vocabulary, Prediction, Author, Commentary and Summary with lots of ideas and different activities to support learning across English and the wider Key Stage 2 curriculum, although I am sure many of the activities would be suitable for Key Stage 1 too.
They are free to download from https://www.poppyandlordted.com/teaching-resources to use to support your teaching activities.
They can also be supported with author visits either virtually or in person. Please reach out to us at info@poppyandlordted.com for more information.
A massive thank you to Sarah Gill pictured above receiving a hardback copy of each book at the book launch event and below with Lord Ted, Scarlett, Georgia and Megan from when she was at Stoneydelph Primary School. I have been working closely with Sarah who has become a great friend, creating such wonderful and comprehensive assets for teachers to use. All at Poppy and Lord Ted HQ are extremely grateful.
